ArtSource appraisal reports are written according to the standards set forth by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and the Appraisal Foundation and also in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice and Internal Revenue Code guidelines.

Objects for appraisal are examined and inspected on-site.  A written inventory is prepared, which includes full descriptions and measurements as well as detailed documentary photographs.

To substantiate evaluations, the current value of each object is fully researched and documented.  Comparable prices from galleries, auction houses, dealers and sales records are analyzed.  When appropriate, experts in a particular field are consulted with authentication services offered.

Contracts delineating the scope of services, as well as estimated costs will be submitted for approval prior to beginning the appraisal process.  Upon completion, the appraisal report is provided in duplicate, with a copy also available in digital format.  All fees are based on an hourly rate.
